Emma Tuxworth

Emma is an enthusiastic General Psychologist who is passionate about providing compassionate and evidence-based support to clients across the lifespan. She has a particular interest in working with children and young women and enjoys helping people make sense of their experiences and build confidence in themselves. Emma is committed to creating a safe, respectful, and non-judgemental space where clients feel comfortable being open about what they’re going through. She works collaboratively with clients to find practical tools and strategies that support real and lasting change.

Children and Young Adolescents


Emma has a strong interest in supporting children and young adolescents in therapy. She enjoys creating a warm, playful, and safe space where young people can feel comfortable being themselves. By incorporating creativity, curiosity, and age-appropriate therapeutic approaches, Emma aims to help children and adolescents develop emotional understanding, resilience, and confidence as they navigate the many changes that come with growing up.

Emma has experience working with Australian Defence Force veterans and their families, providing counselling for concerns such as relationship and family challenges, transitioning to civilian life, anxiety and depression, anger, sleep difficulties, and alcohol or substance use. She is passionate about understanding the lived experiences of veterans and appreciates the unique strengths, challenges, and perspectives that influence their mental health and wellbeing.

Emma takes a practical, collaborative approach to therapy, working alongside clients to understand their experiences, build on their strengths, and create meaningful and lasting change. She has experience supporting people with concerns such as anxiety, depression, grief and loss, emotional regulation, relationship difficulties, and stress. Emma values ongoing professional development and has a growing interest in neuro-affirming practice and psychological assessment. Her work draws on evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) informed care, which she tailors to suit each person’s goals and what works best for them.

Education and Credentials


Emma is a registered psychologist with a Master’s degree in Psychology and a Bachelor of Psychological Science with Honours. Her training has equipped her with a strong grounding in evidence-based approaches to support individuals experiencing a variety of mental health challenges, and she plans to further develop her practice through training in the Gottman Method and by working toward clinical psychology endorsement.
