Emma Tuxworth
Emma is a warm and friendly Provisional Psychologist who is passionate about providing compassionate and evidence-based support to clients across the lifespan. Emma has experience working with Veterans and first responders, as well as children and young women. She has a particular interest in helping people make sense of their experiences and build confidence in themselves, and does this in a way where her clients feel safe and respected. She works collaboratively to find practical tools that work for the client, recognising everyone is unique, with the aim of achieving real and lasting change.
Children and Young Adolescents
Emma has a strong interest in supporting children and young adolescents in therapy. She enjoys creating a warm, playful, and safe space where young people can feel comfortable being themselves. By incorporating creativity, curiosity, and age-appropriate therapeutic approaches, Emma aims to help children and adolescents develop emotional understanding, resilience, and confidence as they navigate the many changes that come with growing up.

She is passionate about understanding the lived experiences of veterans and appreciates the unique strengths, challenges, and perspectives that influence their mental health and wellbeing.

Emma takes a practical, collaborative approach to therapy, working alongside clients to understand their experiences, build on their strengths, and create meaningful and lasting change. She has experience supporting people with concerns such as adjustment and trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, disordered eating, relationship difficulties, and stress. Emma values ongoing professional development and has been gaining experience working with first responders, military personnel, veterans, couples and those who have experienced trauma or high levels of stress. Her work draws on evidence-based approaches including Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) informed care, which she tailors to suit each person’s goals and what works best for them.

Education and Credentials
Emma is a registered psychologist with a Master’s degree in Psychology and a Bachelor of Psychological Science with Honours. Her training has equipped her with a strong grounding in evidence-based approaches to support individuals experiencing a variety of mental health challenges, and she plans to further develop her practice through training in the Gottman Method and by working toward clinical psychology endorsement.
